"Gilbert said she originally found the red marks appearing across her body puzzling, until her husband examined the pillows wedged against the wall. "Those two pillows were just covered in little black bugs," she said.

The answer to the increase in bugs leads down the road from Gilbert's home at the airport. As more people travel, more people also bring home the unwanted souvenir.

"More and more world travelers visiting other countries [are] bringing them back unknowingly," Peraza said."

Fort Worth Is Back In The Searchlight

"A few years ago, I had to make an emergency dental appointment while I was on vacation in San Francisco. The dentist looked at my information and immediately said, "You're from Fort Worth, huh? Ever been on Cops?"

Now John Langley, the creator of Cops, and his son Morgan are working on a new series, Jail, which debuts tonight on KDFI/Channel 27 (a variation on the series, Inside American Jail, has been airing for a couple of weeks on Court TV). And the series premiere visits, yes, a jail in Fort Worth, specifically the Tarrant County sheriff's Green Bay lockup, north of downtown. It's nice to be known for something, right?"

Trinity Trash Bash 2007

It’s time to banish some trash! North Texas cities and entities are gearing up for the 16th annual Trinity Trash Bash events, which will be held throughout the month of September and into October. Individuals, group leaders, educators, and community service organizations are all encouraged to take part in these events, which not only clean and beautify the banks of the Trinity River, but educate the public about the importance of the Trinity River as a primary source of drinking water in the Metroplex.

The Trinity Trash Bash is coordinated by Trinity River Environmental Education, Inc. (TREES, Inc.), a nonprofit organization. Last year’s Trash Bash resulted in more than 2,500 volunteers picking up 36 tons of trash.
