This is scary. The best remedy for colic I found was warm chamomile tea and hair dryer noise.
(AP) WASHINGTON Federal health authorities warned parents Thursday not to give babies a liquid herbal supplement marketed as a remedy for colic and teething pain because several bottles tested positive for a parasite that may have a sickened a 6-week-old infant in Minnesota.
Lab tests conducted by the Food and Drug Administration confirmed the presence of Cryptosporidium, a parasite that can cause diarrhea and intestinal infections, in unopened bottles of apple-flavored Baby's Bliss Gripe Water, according to the FDA. The supplement's distributor, MOM Enterprises of San Rafael, Calif., said it had recalled about 17,600 bottles of the product that were being sold through the Internet and at retail stores nationwide.
The Minnesota baby so far is the only person with a reported illness possibly linked to the product, which is sold in 4-ounce bottles with the code 26952V and has an expiration date of October 2008.

What the hell is going on with the Emergency Room over in Weatherford? Weatherford Democrat - Letters to the Editor, Sept. 23, 2007
What the hell is going on with the Emergency Room over in Weatherford? Sounds like somebody made a HUGE BOO-BOO!!
It’s been fun
Dear editor,
On behalf of the Weatherford emergency physicians, I would like to thank the medical staff, nursing staff and all others at Weatherford Regional Medical Center (WRMC) who have allowed us to practice medicine in such a great environment over the many years. And most importantly, thanks to all of the patients who have entrusted us with their emergency medical care. We never took the responsibility lightly and always took pride in helping others.
But because of the CEO’s decision, all 23 emergency room physicians we will be leaving WRMC as of Sept. 30. We wish all of the employees of WRMC the best and again, thank you all.
Eric Floyd, MD,
Chief of Staff, WRMC
Thanks for the memories
Dear editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the citizens of Parker County for allowing me and my colleagues in the Emergency Department at Weatherford Regional Hospital (formerly Campbell Memorial Hospital) for allowing us to be a part of their lives for the last 13 years.
We have had the priviledge to come along beside many of you in your time of need. I personally have been inspired by your courage in the face of adversity; your faith in God when your world was crumbling; your caring attitude towards one another; and your kindness to each other and to us. Thank you.

The Roosters Are At It Again
I swear this just happened. Papa and Little Rooster are in the living room and I hear the little one say, "Watch Doodlebops." Papa Rooster - no comment. Little Rooster, "Watch Yo Gabba Gabba!" Papa Rooster - no comment. Little Rooster, "Watch Blues Clues." Papa Rooster, "Today is Sunday - no Yo Gabba Gabba, no Doodlebops, no Steve. Today is Da-Da's day."
Two minutes later, I hear the Doodlebops and then I hear footsteps coming down the hall - it's Papa Rooster. I say, "Shorty won again, didn't she?" His response, "I'm getting in the shower."
Papa Rooster, please try and remember what you said just last night - "They need to come out with some new episodes of Future Weapons. I've seen all of them." I can't begin to count the times I've come in the living room and you were watching Mythbusters or How It's Made or anything and everything they have to offer on the Military Channel, and every Saturday and Sunday, the TV is glued to that damn Spike TV and I see you salivating in "the chair" over all the fancy smancy truck parts and lift kits and Flowmasters and boobs. You've got to remember, there's only one person that rules the roost around here, and she's at just the right height to sock it to your family jewels.
Ways To Save On Groceries
Once again, another GH article.
Don't be fooled by deals like two for $1. You don't have to buy two. If the ad says "Buy two for $5" and you want only one, you can still get it for $2.50. If the item doesn't automatically scan that way, point out the sale price to the cashier.
Collect your payoff if there's a mistake. Many people don't know it, but big chains like Giant (?), Safeway (not around here anymore), and Kroger will often give you an item for free if the scan shows a higher price than what's advertised. (Tobacco, alcohol, pharmacy items (all the fun stuff) and dairy are excluded.)
Stock up wisely. Before you stash ten boxes of something on your shelves, check the sell-by date. Even seemingly ageless products like tea bags and toothpaste eventually expire - and you don't want to be stuck owning eight more when they do.
Weigh before you pay. If you're buying a ten-pound bag of taters put it on the scale before you put it in your cart. Many items weigh less than what the package says.
Watch the register - which is sometimes hard to do when Broomhilda has it for her eyes only.
