After shooting, guitarist needs friends more than ever
Star-Telegram staff writer
Smokey Logg needs our help.
The Texas blues guitarist shot a man the other night.
Some guy was kicking at the Loggs' back door in Dallas on Monday at 4 a.m. The unknown intruder turned out to be a musician from next door who had been locked out after hitting his girlfriend.
Carter Albrecht, 34, formerly a keyboard player with the New Bohemians, will be buried today in Plano.
Logg, 54, must go on living.
In his song Goin' to Fort Worth, Logg sings soulfully about walking the Jacksboro Highway and Evans Avenue.
We know him from Fort Worth blues clubs.
He needs to hear from friends.
Mostly, he and his current band and family have heard all week what a great musician and great guy Albrecht was.
