I've got to gripe some about this whole MSN Court Reporter Assistance Group. They kicked me out of the group. Why? I have no idea. I wasn't rude to anyone. In fact, it was the other way around. Like I said earlier, I deleted my original post to this board because I realized I put my full legal name in it. Well, some unkind person reposted what I had originally written that included my full legal name. I sent a message to the moderator of this group asking them to delete that post because I didn't want my name spread all over the country. Did they delete it? I have no idea because they removed me from the group. I cannot sign in under my name.
If anyone is reading this and is a member of MSN Court Reporter Assistance Group, could you please leave a comment and let me know if that post is still up on that board? I will be forever grateful.
I am really not a mean person and I never, ever expected to get the kind of brow-beating I received from some of the members of that forum. I never said anything derogatory about anyone or the profession as a whole. It really bothers me that there are people in this world that are so hateful and mean-spirited.
This is what shows up on my screen when I try to go to their website:

Shelley - Your post is no longer on the MSN Court Reporter's
Assistance forum. It along with the responses -- which include the response that contained a copied and pasted version of your original post -- are gone.
Honestly, Shelley, I saw very few posts on the forum that were mean or rude. You posted and asked for opinions, we gave them. I respect the fact that your legal battle was upsetting for you, but your article cast court reporters in an unflattering light as a whole, and those of us who are still in the field took offense, and rightly so. You may not interpret it that way, but all of us on the forum did, so you may want to take a step back and reevaluate what was written and try to see it from our perspective.
I really hope things are going well for you in life and you are happy with your decision to leave the field. It's definitely not for everyone. Please, though, respect the fact that those of us who are still practicing court reporters want our profession to be fairly represented, especially in a blog which lives and breathes on the internet and can be accessed by anyone.
Sincerely -
Kilbycsr of the MSN CR Assistance Forum.
Thank you, kilbycsr. I appreciate your honesty. I never in a million years would try and portray court reporters in an unflattering light. If I did, I am very, very, very sorry. I honestly never meant to.
I do plan on court reporting again sometime and I don't want everyone to hate me. I for one know that court reporters are a tight-knit group and I don't like being on the outside looking in. I wish I could post a few pages of my transcript just to show everyone what I was talking about, but under the terms of the settlement agreement, I cannot do that.
Please let everyone over at that board know that I am deeply sorry for coming across the way I did. I still don't understand why they kicked me out of the group though.
Again, thank you for responding.
Shelley - I'm not completely sure why you were kicked out of the group either. The only reason I can think of is that the moderator did, in fact, think you were there for purposes other than discussing court reporting. I'm just speculating, though. I left for a while, and when I came back your were gone, as was your post.
Not that it really matters a hill of beans now, but I only posted that because I did want to see what other court reporters thought. I wasn't there to do anything other than that, honestly. I started this blog thing about two weeks ago, and I am clueless to how it all really works. I'm learning as I go along. I'm not trying to sell anything and I'm not trying to get people to join a cult or anything crazy like that. I'm just a stay-at-home mom, non practicing court reporter. This blog is my only source of adult entertainment. And by adult, I mean Elmo is not doing a little jig on my screen.
I want to say again how much I appreciate you leaving a comment. My mind was going a hundred miles an hour thinking people were going to start calling my house, poisoning my dogs. I told my husband when we left the house today that I felt like I needed to wear a bulletproof vest.
Thank you so much for easing my mind.
And, yes, I'm being facetious about poisoning my dogs. But I was a little nervous about my name being plastered everywhere.
